Team 5881 Tungsteel

About Us

Watauga Robotics is a student-led, self funded organization run out of Watauga High School in Boone, NC. Every year we compete in the First Tech Challenge robotics competition held by FIRST, whose goal is to promote STEM advancement in youth around the world.

In the offseason, we focus on building the programming and design-based skills of our team members and usually help out at a number of community STEM endeavors like SumoBots and BuildFest to get younger kids interested in robotics. Watauga Robotics not only teaches STEM skills, but also provides high school students with the opportunity to be community leaders. Being a 100% student lead club we not only design, program, and build our robots, but our members must also learn to effectively organize, lead, and work together as a collective.
