Keith! Our 2021-22 Season Robot

Each major iteration of the robot receives a new name. Our 2021-22 robot was christened "Keith" in January of 2021. She may not be the prettiest robot, but she taught us a lot about robot design, construction, and programming!

2022 FTC Competitions

Each year we compete in FIRST Tech Challenge competitions. These events are definitely competitive, but they're also community events where teams interact, help each other troubleshoot last-minute problems, and have fun together.

Judge's Choice Award

In the 2022 State Tournament, we won the "Judge's Choice Award." This award isn't based on robot performance, outreach, or any specific criteria, but is intended to recognize "a team whose unique efforts, performance, or dynamics merit recognition, but does not fit into any of the existing award categories." The entire panel of judges must unanimously agree to give this award, and the award is not given to any team if the judge's do not all agree on a single team. Although this award does not factor into advancement (we were not able to go to the world competition), we are extremely proud to have received this award, and the recognition of all the hard work we did to "reboot" the team.

Buildfest 2022

In addition to participating in the FIRST Tech Challenge robotics competition, we do outreach work and volunteer with local organizations. In 2022, we participated in The Children's Playhouse's annual "Buildfest." We brought building supplies to engage kids with building/design, SnapCircuits to teach the basics of circuitry, and allowed the kids to play a game with a robot we designed ("Timothy").
